April is Month of the Military Child. During this month, we take time to recognize the sacrifices of our military children, and celebrate their strength, courage and resiliency. Our youngest heroes serve by adapting to frequent moves, change of schools, parental deployments, and life transitions.
In conjunction with Month of the Military Child, Purple Up! is an initiative calling the community to show support for children in military families. You can do this by wearing the color purple on April 15th. Why purple? Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, as it is a combination of Army green, Marine red, and Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard blue.
Click here for Month of the Military Child events at APG. Corvias Military Living would like to salute our military children and show appreciation for all that they do!
Did you know that you can receive $150 for referring someone to live with us at APG? Residents will receive $150 for every resident that they refer when the new residents move in by June 30th. It is that easy. In order to be eligible to receive the reward, make sure that the person you refer provides your name to on the guest card when inquiring about a home. Take advantage of this limited-time offer and contact us for more information.
Break out the gardening gloves! Corvias will celebrate Yard of the Month from April to October. The yard of the month program will reward those who make a special effort to improve their yard and beautify their home. Each yard of the month winner will receive a a yard of the month sign to be displayed in front of the home, and a gift certificate.
Judging and Rules:
Judging will be conducted by the 15th of the month. Photos of the top 3 yards for each community will be posted on our Facebook page.
The yard with the most “likes” will win. Winners will be notified. A resident may win only once during the 2016 Yard of the Month program.
Spring has sprung and the grass is growing! That means our lawn care providers will be starting their mowing schedules soon. The lawn care provided is a basic cut and trim to keep the neighborhoods looking well-kept. In order to provide the best possible service to our resident, we are asking that you remember to do the following on your scheduled mowing day. More information on the lawn care schedule will be provided.
- Pets– secure your pets in your home or in a kennel. Please remove any chains and ground anchor stakes. They are a safety issue when not visible through the grass.
- Pet waste– please remove all pet waste
- Children’s toys– please remove all toys on the lawn
- Lawn furniture or decorations– store all non-fixed furniture and décor
- Decorative solar lights– please remove if possible. Most solar lights are very fragile and can be easily damaged by weed eaters.
- Garden Hoses– please remove from the lawn to avoid damage
Look out for the Army Survey that will be emailed beginning May 5th. This important survey will help ensure the continued success of the RCI program in meeting your needs, and will help guide the Army and Corvias in the development of future improvements to our homes and services. This survey will be administered through a third party, CEL & Associates, Inc. (CEL). The survey results are confidential, so please express your true opinions and thoughts. Residents who complete the survey will be entered to win a weekly drawing of $250 and one grand prize of $500!
The installation is developing a Mass Warning and Notification System. This system will be used to warn the public of impending danger due to an emergency. The APG emergency mass notification system (known as AtHoc) provides a mass notification system to distribute warning messages during a crisis throughout the APG community. To effectively and quickly reach a mass audience, the system relies on accurate contact information.
Enrollment in this system is optional but highly encouraged. To enroll in the system please click here and complete the form. Only 1 family member per household is permitted to register. Individuals already registered in AtHoc through APG work affiliation are excluded from re-registering.
Additional directions are provided on the form. To accurately complete the form, please follow the directions below for inputting your home address:
For those homes in Aberdeen, there will be a letter “A” in front of the address. For example, 2546 D Coastal Court will be displayed as A2546D. For the homes in Edgewood, there will be a letter “E” in front of the address. For example, 1254 Everette Road will be E1254.
Spouses of active-duty service members are eligible to apply for $5,000 Educational Grants for college. Applications are due May 5 and are available at corviasfoundation.org.
If every American recycled just one-tenth of their newspapers, we could save about 25 million trees each year.
